A poster is a big-size stamp, and a stamp is a small-sized poster… This idea is reflected in the name of these projects (‘postzegel’ is a stamp in Dutch): they were published in Zazie, a magazine for kids directed by fabulous Patrick Jordens, and printed once a month in Brussel Deze Week (now Bruzz, the trilingual weekly guide to Brussels’ life).
Design for kids should be as strong and daring as for adults; I often display these posters in my exhibitions and get interesting remarks and stimulating reactions from both young and older audiences.
